Puch Magazine - Stories from Salzburg
Grias Di, moin moin and hello! I'm Silja, born and raised in northern Germany near Bremen. Being outdoors a lot was my elixir of life even in my childhood.
After studying “International Tourism Management”, I moved to Berlin, where I discovered my love for herbs as a counterbalance to my full-time job in urban gardening. I explored the “wild city nature” and finally trained at the Gundermann Nature Experience School to become a certified herb pedagogue and spice specialist IHK.
The way led on to Austria. Since 2016 I have been living in Puch, very close to the Salzach and surrounded by meadows and beech forests. At LFI Salzburg, I have expanded my “herbal training” to include folk medicine and have since gained a lot of experience with processing wild herbs from my garden and the nature around me.

During herbal hikes, in courses and as the author of the Wilde Möhre Blog, the Instagram-Account of the same name and my recently published book „Ganz schön wild“, I pass on my experience and knowledge about wild herbs and invite you to participate. It is my conviction that knowledge about plants and their processing should not be expert knowledge, but general knowledge. Plants pervade our whole life. They produce vital oxygen and are valuable food, they donate healing power and give us space to live, protect and relax. Plants make diversity possible, they provide colors, textile and cosmetic raw materials, wonderful fragrances, natural and renewable building and fuel materials and much more. Therefore, we should cherish and protect this valuable asset. If you feel like immersing yourself in the world of herbs and wild plants, let us do it together. I look forward to it!
Sincerely yours
